Design your own pool
Location – Where in your yard is the pool going to go? Back yard? Front yard? On the roof?
Step 1 – Draw a birds-eye view of you yard where the pool is going to go. Include fences, houses, garages, big trees etc on your plan. Bonus points if you include measurements and draw it to scale.
Shape – What shape is your pool going to be? Square, circle, curvy, rectangle, triangle? Penguin shaped?
Step 2 – Draw your pool in on the plan. Add step locations. Mark the pool depths.
Cool Stuff – Ok, lets go wild! What cool things do you want in your pool? A slide from your bedroom? A cave you swim through? A trampoline in the middle?
Step 3 – Label and note all of the “cool stuff” you are adding to your pool. Remember, more is more. You can sketch any elements of this and add it as a side or separate sketch.
Surrounds – Ok, we can’t just have a pool with lots of cool stuff. We need to make it look pretty around the pool too. What surface do you want around your pool? Grass, tiles, deck? We probably want some trees. Lounges to nap? A hammock? A big tv?
Step 4 – Mark and label your surrounds.
Step 5 – Send it in! Get your parents to send through your Pool Design Sketch to me, and I will do up as many as possible into a 3D video for you, so you can see what your design will look like in real life. Please include your first name and age.
We will post the designs on our Facebook page. And he designs with the most likes will win a mystery prize!
